Pre Gecko handling handwash...

So for Valentine’s Day (and in a rare bout of originality-itis) I purchased a pair of Crested Geckos for Jade. She and the girls were delighted and I must admit they are rather fascinating creatures. I converted a largish and quite tall aquarium we had recently acquired (second hand) to be their temperate rain forest home, complete with a misting system to emulate the occasional damp they would experience in the wild (however, these are bred in captivity).

When we collected them Jade picked up a couple of bottles of this hand soap which was recommended to be used before handling them and despite the Chameleon displayed on the product this purports to be an all reptile friendly product.

Little did we know we were going to become hand washing freaks just a few weeks later but a happy coincidence nonetheless.

Isabella (4 years old) named the Geckos after her best friends Charlie and Hazel although they’ve yet to meet their namesakes.

Cynics may well want to swap the word ‘originality-itis’ above with ‘desperation’ and to them I say that perhaps we may never ever know the truth...
