Spokes Ride to Inveresk - Musselburgh Archer

The Spokes Ride went ahead after morning coffee at Caffe Nero. The initial rain had gone off when we left the café, so we opted for a short ride out ot Inveresk for lunch. Out along the Innocent Railway to Brunstane, then along Milton Road East and Edinburgh Rd to Fisherrow. Then along the coastal path before following the River Esk inland. We stopped near the Roman bridge for a wee while, this sun has made an appearance at this stage. We head on to the River Esk path to Bogs Bank, then to the Craig House Hotel via Whitecraig.

After lunch, a repeat of the Mince Pie ride Hillend. A bit breezy, it was back to the River Esk, then the Old Craighall into Midlothian and the cycle path at Shawfair. Thence along the cycle path to Loanhead and Roslin, which wasn't as bad as last month. As we head towards Loanhead, the sun goes behind a cloud, and it is pretty grey by the time we get to Roslin. There seems to be a bit of moisture in the air, but we might make it back to Edinburgh without getting too wet. It is through Roslin to Gowkley Moss, then Bush and the Seafield Moor Rd to Hillend, where there is a little light rain. And in to Edinburgh through Fairmilehead.
