It all came flooding back ...

As I walked along the River Don this evening, I saw this pair of swans starting to build their nest. They try to build there most years, although their plans are sometimes thwarted by the fast-flowing river. 
In the foreground is a tree matted with grass and straw (up to a height of over 10-12 feet). This matting happened in the floods of early 2016 (giving an indication of the depth of flood water at that time). Now small birds build their nests each year in this "matting".
Close by are homes - some old cottages, some more modern "executive homes". After the floods in early 2016, these houses and cottages were empty for many months. I walked past them each day on my walks with the (naughty) dog - no lights on, no cars outside, the owners/residents shut out until the flood damage was dealt with. 
Now (in "Coronavirus times"), I walk past those same houses and cottages each day (still with the same naughty dog - just allowed one walk per day!) - the lights are on, cars are outside, the owners/residents are shut in ... 
Elsewhere in the country, there are those who have very recently experienced flooding - I feel for them, and think of them today - both shut out from their own homes, and presumably now also shut in somewhere else ...
