Corvid

I was taking my allotted exercise on the beach when I heard a CRACK and saw what looked like a large rock landing a few feet away from me. I looked about but there was no-one near me (of course). Then a pair of crows landed, looked at something then wandered off. I went to investigate and found that the rock was actually a piece of bone (extra). It hadn't broken but maybe they tried again later?

It reminded me a bit of Aeschylus who was killed when an eagle dropped a turtle on his head
