Lock Down
The whole of New Zealand is in Lock Down and a State of Emergency has been declared. This is to slow the curve of the Covid_19 Corona Virus that is going to hit us. All Non Essential Services have been closed, shops and Businesses some of which may end up closing due to the financial strain that will be felt. This is history in the making for New Zealand as this is the first time it has ever happened. Today is Day One, I noticed a lot more people out walking or on bicycles but so little traffic. What I find for me is I don't seem to know what day it is, last night was so eerily quiet, not the usual noises and I have not slept well in the last 2 nights. It is the fear of the unknown and this Virus is certainly something to be feared, there is no Vaccine Yet and those with lowered immune systems, over 70 and Chronic Respiratory sufferers are high risk. Social Distancing and washing your hands are the norm right now. The Lock Down is for 4 weeks and depending on the steps we all take to protect ourselves and others, will determine the outcome.
