Symbols of hope.

As I drew back the bedroom curtains early this morning, I could see paintings of rainbows stuck on the windows of the school opposite.
When we went out for our “once a day” allowance of a walk mid afternoon yesterday I noticed rainbows in windows of several different houses as we passed by.
We hardly met anyone and when we did come across another walker or couple we all observed the social distance, with smiles of understanding all round.
The grandchildren spoke to us on FaceTime at teatime and they had each painted a rainbow to put in their window.
I asked them about it.
“It’s to tell everyone there are children here, granny”
Children who are having to be at home and isolated.
Across the road at school the children of the Frontline and Key workers, or the most vulnerable children, are coming each day, along with staff.
I haven’t seen them but the rainbows are in the windows.
Symbols of hope in such challenging times.
The extra is one painted by our grandson yesterday and sent to us on WhatsApp.
The main photo is the sunrise at 5.50am.
