Glass Church

This is the Wayfarers Chapel (the Glass Church), on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA. Near San Pedro. I was looking through my photos today for buildings associated with Frank Lloyd Wright when I found this beautiful image. I was there in 1972.

The church was designed by Lloyd Wright (son of Frank Lloyd Wright). Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay were married there in 1958. I never met Jayne Mansfield but I did meet with Mickey Hargitay a number of times at his home, recording his life story on video. He was a wonderful person. Their daughter Mariska Hargitay is seen on TV every week in the NBC drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
