A Nice Place for a Lockdown
What day of the week is it? It's starting to get hard to remember with all the usual reference points having fallen out of the diary! I'm sure we’ll recognise when the weekend comes (it will be when the sun stops shining).
Annie popped out mid-morning and finished off yesterday's leaflet drop to villagers. This evening's exercise walk was a bit more extended than the last couple of days but in the same local area. This house is part of the Waddesdon estate which we walk into from the village. Like the manor and other properties, it is distinctly Rothschild.
The sun was almost down by the time I reached this view but there was just enough left to still be catching the building and lighting it in rich colour.
Edit (July 2020): The Coronavirus Act 2020 is passed granting the government and other authorities “unprecedented” powers. It provides the health secretary the power to prohibit events and gatherings, for the purpose of preventing the transmission of coronavirus. The Act also grants police, immigration officers and health officials powers to detain “potentially infectious” persons.
Life for us was a strange balance of working from home as usual, with a lot of "unusual" going on around us. Or rather - not going on. Relaxing but stressful. The main road was empty, and people were friendly on our limited walks out as they were hungry to see people. The weather was, and largely remained, amazing during this time.
