Organist

I sometimes use the metaphor of a cathedral organist playing his complicated instrument comprising multiple keyboards, stops and pedals to produce beautiful music to illustrate how we, if we really know all the nuances of our fundamental human characteristics, can also play ourselves well to produce magnificent expressions of self.

I felt very much like an organist today with a full two screen set up and multiple planes of paper with a variety of both written and diagrammatic information to inform me, as I coached a senior leader of an automotive manufacturer on the leadership skills required in his current situation.

It also contains three personal items: yours truly in the smaller screen, a crystal globe - given to me by my mother on the occasion of my 50th birthday - and an amethyst heart given to me by Dd on my recent 60th birthday.  I would quickly add that the heart stone is not an amethyst but simply amethyst-coloured!
