Bridge House at Ambleside

The Bridge House was built over Stock Ghyll more than 300 years ago as a summer house and apple store for Ambleside Hall. It is said at some time a family with six children lived here in the two rooms. The building was purchased by local people in 1926 and kindly given to the National Trust.
