A New Day
This is sunrise in Plymouth.
We should have still been in Australia, we weren’t supposed to come home for about another month, but had to move whilst we could get a flight out of the country or risk being stuck for another six months. We were lucky to get a flight, and the plane was packed so we are pretty much self-isolating just in case we picked up the virus on our travels.
It’s fair to say I wasn’t ready to go. We’d started our goodbyes, but missed out on final occasions to spend time with friends and colleagues. The goodbyes we did get in the last couple of days were rushed and barely sufficient; I spent most of the flight home feeling emotionally raw and bone-tired at the same time.
But... on to new things. We are in a small holiday apartment until our tenants move out of our house at the end of the week. Even then, we may not be able to move yet due to lockdown and a possible inability to get the basic bits of furniture we need to live with until our belongings arrive from Australia. Whenever that may be...
This was from our one daily exercise morning walk. It was lovely to see the sunrise over Plymouth Sound.
