Homewreckers
Piper and Joey have pulled their teepee down (again).
Very busy work day, lots of calls. Normally my work calls are very businesslike and brisk, but now people are chatty - I guess these calls have to sub in for the normal ‘water-cooler’ gossip (what do I know? I haven’t worked in an office since 2002!) And everyone has a connection to the North-East, and turns out I know a Drogheda accent when I hear one.
Mr B boldly left the house today for food shopping and timber supplies. (I think the later counts as health essentials, as without some DIY to do I fear for his mental health!) the only builders merchant now open in town is the little one-man-band run by our friend J-M. Mr B said he’d never seen the place so busy! Let’s hope the local builders remember he stayed open for them when Chausson wouldn’t, when this is all over.
Some brief gardening at the end of the day (carrots, radishes, and cuttings from a common mallow), then more work before slow cooked lamb and some comfort West Wing.
