The Last Delivery of the Morning
My prescription delivery run this morning covered parts of NW Mull, and was a steep learning curve in finding places again. But have started an info sheet for all the drivers with clues to out of the way places, houses with no number or house name visible, and peculiar number sequences, to share with other drivers. The gratitude expressed was quite overwhelming and have been close to tears quite a few times today.
I've also been scrupulously mindful of hygiene and the number of potential points of contact, wearing surgical gloves and using White Tailed Gin hand sanitiser (they have provided this across the island for free). The roads were pretty quiet so I'm hoping all the #mefirst Covid19 tourists have headed home. I thought I was going to get soaked as was chucking it down this morning but the sun even came out. Very grateful for this and for a lot of other things, including how brilliantly people are working together here. And K - please do get some sleep tonight. Think she worked through the night and today is working more of her magic getting the systems we need in place here. Like many of us here and elsewhere, unpaid (and having lost all her paid work), motivated by the drive to save lives.
And finally - wishing my lovely sister H a happy 60th birthday, it will be a memorable one but not for the right reasons.
