Spotted...

………………..Shag / Cormorant

An unusual day as we completed final preparations in readiness for the four weeks of lockdown.

Returning along Wharf Rd we pulled into a favourite parking spot by the Motueka marina. The tide was rushing out and the scene was quiet and peaceful.
I’d taken photos and as I climbed the bank I noticed this spotted shag watching me. It quite happily posed and after several minutes of preening took flight along the channel towards Jackets Island.

Thank you for the stars and hearts for yesterday’s glimpse of the view from the Moutere Hill. This road was originally the state highway between Nelson and Motueka, NZ, but it has since been replaced by a road following the coast.

Coronavirus
Another 40 cases of the virus have been confirmed today.
Probable cases are now being included in the total count, meaning New Zealand now has 155 cases of Covid-19, including 142 cases that have tested positive.
Of these, only 4 are the result of community transmission.
