An Early Taste of Winter
Castle Hill Peak early this morning.
Last night a southerly squall passed through, with a drastic drop in temperature. I caved in and donned a merino long sleeved teeshirt under the usual layers. My hands as I type are stiff with the cold. Looks like I’ll have to get out the heater.
Still, I am in relative comfort on this second-to-last day before the country is shut down. A lot of people are trying to get home before the cut-off. Many are students studying in distant universities. Now we are seeing the inconvenience of having a wild stretch of ocean dividing the country.
My son’s work closed at lunchtime. We will be isolated together for at least the next four weeks. Just as well we get on so well.
