Strange but beautiful

Their wedding was meant to be 4th April.
We realised early last week, that plans were going to have to change drastically.
Then SkyeMan’s parents confirmed that they couldn’t travel down and the PM’s daily announcements convinced us to act.

So today, our beautiful eldest daughter, married the lovely lovely SkyeMan who we are proud to welcome as a son-in-law. He’s felt like a member of the family for ages anyway. But we are delighted that these 2 have walked through this week with such trust in God’s sovereignty and such humility as all their carefully made plans were laid to one side.

So time to celebrate later.

But today, no dressing up and no live-streaming out to many others, because the family in Skye couldn’t be here, so just a personal video-call.

No driving off into the sunset either, as both have to work these two weeks and they have nowhere to live yet.

So a small wonderful ceremony, wonderfully led by our pastor, officiated by a wonderful registrar and vows made before our wonderful Heavenly Father made all things right.

A Chinese takeaway back at ours, sweet moments such as the cutting of a cupcake and we thank God for today.

And as I write this up, how much more awesome this is, considering Monday’s news of no more weddings, as the country takes on the challenge of suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
