PCM cards and memory boards

Why do we keep all this out of date stuff. I have about 10 cd drives and probably 3 or more hard discs from pcs. I have more wire than BT in my study. Why don't we throw the chargers away when we break or throw away a remote controlled car or an old phone. My house is full of pointless, worthless rubbish!
