I'd thought to walk at Wet Sleddale, somewhere I go often, à couple of minutes from home. Nobody is ever there. I think I've once, on a weekend, seen another car. Today I abandoned that plan when I counted 9 cars in the carpark....

Instead pooch and I had a dull desolate but isolate walk up Coalpit Hill on the old Roman Road. It was there that I managed to spot this wee fellow who I tentatively think is a juvenile Golden Plover.
