Domestic Goddess....

I picked a large quantity of my beans which had grown rapidly while I was away. My friends looking after the rascals has helped themselves to them, but there were more. I found a very old bean slicer I used to help my mother with many years ago(65+yrs). It looked rusty, and really past it, but a hot scrub and the blades are still v sharp. In the days before freezers, we used to 'salt' beans in a large pottery container. I loved them as a child. Not sure if you can still buy bean slicers??? 
Many memories today as I sliced and froze all the spare beans.
