Sunday
The sun was pouring through the windows while we were having breakfast. Unfortunately, however, by the time we had listened to our morning service, and driven over to Miami Whitewater Forest, the clouds were returning, and soon it was quite overcast again. We were walking the paved Shaker Trace
Trail today - we’ve had so much rain lately we thought many other trails would be really muddy. Even here, there were dramatic signs of the rain - at some time in the week they had obviously had a sort of flash flood along the creek, with the water clearly having totally crossed the trail in parts, and destroying split rail fences in others. However, they had done a good job of cleaning up the path, and we walked for a total of 6 miles.
Our FaceTime chats with our daughter in Kuwait are almost daily at present. School has been closed now for four weeks, and they have announced now that schools will not reopen this school year. Ramadan is coming up shortly, then that is followed by a National holiday, and after that there would only be about a week of school. They are however continuing with online learning for the rest of the school year. In these uncertain times, and increasing travel bans, she’s just afraid she may not be able to get home, when she’s free to do so. Our daughter Jen was planning to come for a visit from Salt Lake City in April, but has decided since she works in a hospital, it’s probably best for us if she doesn’t. Thank heaven for modern technology to keep us in touch in these troubling times!
There was so little color in my photograph, I decided to convert it to B & W.
