Happy Mother’s Day

It was a very different Mother’s Day this year. Self isolation is not a huge bundle of fun but happily the weather was sunny and although a little cold, the offspring who were on hand to make it to the Dower House patio were wrapped up warmly sitting 2 metres apart from each other and me.

Having previously watched the Andrew Marr show on television this morning, the whole scary virus tsunami about to hit us as it has already done in Italy and Spain has scared the bejesus out of me. #2 daughter is transferring next week from orthopaedics in Dunfermline to A&E in Kirkcaldy. That sounds like a dangerous move but there are also large numbers of retired doctors and surgeons being recruited to the front line and presumably some of them will be older and in the at risk category.

I took my birthday bike out for an airing before 8am this morning and it was heaven to cycle on deserted roads and able to miss the potholes without being mown down by a passing car. It was so nippy though that my hands and fingers were frozen. I think it’s time it got a bit warmer.

I’m waiting for David and Luca to appear with their forwarded instructions of sitting outside and not being given any cups or glasses. I’m not sure about the biscuits.
