Shetland pony ......

Back blip

First full day of our break, and we attended the morning country dance session, which was good. Then a group of us strolled into Aberfoyle and had a bite of lunch (actually we needed little as we were very well fed) at the Woolen Mill. My photo is of one of the little Shetland ponies there. Then we had a walk up the hill towards the David Marshall Lodge, and a bit of a circular route back down to Aberfoyle and back to the hotel for dinner and an evening of dancing. It was great!

The Ceilidh club has run a break at this hotel for many years, and I actually came on one about thirteen years ago on my own; I didn't expect much of the hotel this time, as it used to be chalets, and they were pretty basic, although the food was nice. Anyhow, nowadays they have built new residential blocks, and joined them up to the public rooms of the hotel by a covered corridor which works quite well. The rooms are fine, and I was quite impressed this time. One of the reasons they use this hotel is the good sized dance floor, and we made full use of it.
