Fancy plasterwork

This is the ceiling rose in our living room. Purely decorative, with no practical function.

The house is early Georgian, but I suspect the ceiling roses and cornices are Victoria additions. Or maybe even put up by a 1970s DIY fanatic with delusions of grandeur.
