A worrying day
We woke at 8. Jon slept well, but I was awake worrying about covid19. The sun was shining and we had jobs to do.
After breakfast I got on with cleaning inside, while Jon did the outside. It took us until about 11. Then we were joined by Henry and Mollie. Henry stayed to fix a light which hasn't worked properly since we got the caravan. He identified it as the switch that needed replacing, so they bought a new switch.
Mollie went off to her friends, and Jon, Henry and I went to Cromer for fish and chips. There were loads of people about - like they were on holiday. I rang Manda. Then everything changed for me. She sent me a link on WhatsApp to a phone in on LBC radio. It was a Dr in a London hospital, basically out of his mind with frustration at the UK public who are carrying on their lives the same as before. If you can, you must listen to it. Dr Jack, LBC radio. This virus will not go away unless we STOP. We need to stay home, not mix, not socialise, and just shop when essential (so that's just for food, and just one of us as little as possible) he couldn't stress enough how the hospitals are already unable to cope in London, and we are nowhere near a peak. This country needs lockdown if people won't listen and do as they are told. It is so serious, I am going to keep on repeating the message. We took Henry home, then went back to the caravan, to basically pack up and go home. The shine had gone from our holiday, and the jobs were done.
We are home now. We've spoken to our boys again about the seriousness of social distancing etc and I am praying they will listen, take note and take action. Will it be so bad to be at home together? I can think of lots to do, although I will be working from home from Monday, with just a venture in to the office on Friday. I'm already worried about that, but it has to be done.
Some tv, then tomorrow a day working on the garden and on the allotment.
