Brauts on the River

Today was a bummer of day. Not only has the quarantine starting to wear on us but early afternoon my son, Patrick, told me that he had been laid off of work. He is a young married man with a house mortgage. We expect his wife will be laid off this coming week as she works in hospitality. We also heard that my niece was laid off from her job.

I was feeling such a tightness in my chest all afternoon. Vince made some cocktails, we cooked some brautwurst and had dinner out on the deck. Mind you, it is only 52 degrees out, but somehow the sunshine and the drinks seemed to calm us down and improve our outlook.

I hope the economy can recover and people can get back to work and soon.
