Imprisoned

My favourite fictional character is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas.
A young man, Edmond Dantès is betrayed by his “friends”, tried and falsely imprisoned in the notorious island prison the Chateau d’If. He escapes after 30 years with the secret of the treasure of the Isle of Monte Cristo. Then seeks revenge and retribution.

How ironic that I should be “imprisoned” the only difference is that I have a cell companion and a full store cupboard instead of surviving on thin gruel.

Oh - and not being beaten on a daily basis
Ah, the irony of life.

It’s a good read if you have some spare time on your hands
