Not so Silly

Is it silly to blip my flowers and only show the stems? 
Got my tulips on Thursday from Rebecca, an early Mother’s Day gift, left on my doorstep along with the shopping Mike did for me.
I wanted to put them in my tall glass vase as they are a very large bunch.
Problem: they were too short.
Then remember a florist showing me this tip - so l scrunched up the yellow tissue and cellophane that they were wrapped in. 
Pushed the wrapping into the bottom of the vase , then filled it with water and added the flowers.
