The Rain has Arrived.

The rain has finally arrived. We desperately need it, however, in what seems to be typical Queensland style, it arrives in spectacular fashion. With the tail end of tropical cyclone Oswald working its way down the coast Queensland is now being flooded. The Bruce Hwy (the main arterial road connecting Brisbane with Northern Queensland has been cut off by flooding. Dams are being released as a precaution in anticipation of what's coming down the coast and already some areas such as Callide Creek (600km north of Brisbane) have advised residents to move to higher ground as they perform an emergency release of the dam. Brisbane is tipped to see huge rainfalls over the next couple of days.
