Birthdays in perspective

1759 - the Bard is born, today, 254 years ago, not 10 miles from here.

1776 - so it says on the faces of the gable skews - makes This Old House 237 years old, though not necessarily today. Set back from the old road to Ayr and one of only a few back then, it's a thought that the Bard might well have passed by on occasions or perhaps even visited here. Wonder if that little known ballad 'To a house' was about here?

2013 - haggis, neeps and champit tatties for tea!
