New ways to work

I suppose this week I have had more video meetings than in all the past year.

Meetings with other pastors, meetings with our staff who are now working from home, meetings for spiritual direction, meetings for pastoral care.

Can I just say that I don’t really like doing that. I mean I work hard at doing it well by screen, but presence is something that is best done in person. There are nuances that you don’t always notice over the ether.

Besides that, wow are my eyes tired.

But I think things are mostly ready for Sunday. We’ll not be meeting as a group but I’ve prepared some material of readings and prayers that we as families, couples, and individuals will engage in at 11am together on Sunday morning.

This season is forcing us all into new ways.

That isn’t all bad.
