Formby beach

Friday 20th March 2020

No day off at this time. I spent the day fielding queries, organising the church and setting up ready to open daily 10.30am - 7pm for private prayer. See photo.

I did manage to get away late afternoon for a stroll on the beach. A much needed stretch of legs and fresh air. I was sad to see so many groups on the beach clearly ignoring any call for physical distance. I felt as if I was viewing an alternative universe where COVID 19 didn't exist. Strange feeling.

I called in to the supermarket and was staggered to see how empty all the shelves were becoming. I went down some empty aisles and found it hard to know what they once sold. Still no purchase of toilet rolls but I did get very excited when I found some soap - jackpot after making 10 visits to the shops.

I was also doing some shopping for a friend who is self isolating for protection. I needed milk, she needed milk, there was no milk. I stopped at a small shop on the way home. There was milk but it was limited to one per customer .... I still need milk.

I felt this photo represented something of the way we are at the moment. On a little island with the sea moving in all around and a view to the distance where it gets narrower.
