Lost Village

This is the lost village of Hall Sands which was a couple of hundred yards from where we were staying at the house owned by our friends Gill & Peter.

In 1917,  following dredging of the protective shingle bar to extend the naval dockyard in Plymouth,  the small fishing village of Hallsands was destroyed by the sea over two nights leaving only one house standing.

Further damage has been sustained recently and it will soon disappear completely.

We have left Devon and are now back home.
