Roman Road and isolation

The way up to High Street from the end of Troutbeck is steep and unrelenting and would have been quite nippy today for any Roman in their toga.

Just a few people about on the fells though plenty driving round.  Cheerful "good mornings" from the couples and youngsters, but miserable stares from the older solo walkers.  "I'm isolating myself on this hill - what are you doing here"
