Susan’s spring garden

Another day of the new normal, although the normal changed a notch with the announcement that pubs, bars and restaurants will close from this evening.

We continued with the new normal with Doreen as there’s been four visits to her today for care and medicine on top of her regular carer visit. The first visit was followed by a walk.

Susan has worked hard at creating her spring garden over the years. It’s the only time of the year when this bed gets much light. In the summer the grand old apple tree casts a shadow over the plot. Just remembered this is Flower Friday. Thanks for hosting Bikerbear.

After lunch I took bags of spent tomato compost from last year to the allotment, calling in at a nursery for some bags of peat free compost. We have all the seeds for this summer, I ordered tomato and chilli plug plants this afternoon. There’ll be plenty of time for keeping that allotment in top shape.

California went into complete lockdown overnight which makes life even more challenging over there for Chris and Landon and his mum.

My other son is still at work with BAe Systems. He can’t work at home. His wife works in a school and with granddaughter Miya both are off school until whenever.

In the midst of one of the greatest challenges ever to affect the world we have to be positive and creative. Find new ways of doing things and new direction. Rock Choir is going virtual and Gareth Malone is doing something called the Great British Home Chorus. And it’ll be a tragedy if I’m still hopeless at the ukulele at the end of all this.
