PBS Newshour Control Room

I'm in Arlington, VA this week helping train members of the MacNeil/Lehrer Productions team on DSLR video techniques.

After today's sessions, we headed down the street to the WETA TV Studio & Production Center to watch this evening's live broadcast of the PBS NewsHour from the main control room. It was very impressive with the director and 14 staffers coordinating shots, graphics, pre-recorded pieces, and the on-air talent. Even with a few challenges early in the broadcast, the show came off perfectly, much like a well-choreographed ballet.
