Thank goodness...
...for this wee bit of countryside five minutes from my door.
More covid-19 measures announced yesterday...we’ve to practice social distancing so last night and today has seen a steady stream of emails coming in from all our organisations closing down until we get through this.
No scouts, brownies, rangers, ramblers, rowing club...Lord knows how we’ll keep sane with the Rooster not Rowing. That email nearly broke me...not because we’ll have a full of energy Rooster about the house but the line indicating that “it may be a while before we can all train together again”. Ruairidh loves the activity but he loves the company and camaraderie even more :-(
The final straw for me this morning was the wee fellas’s Curling and the Church! I was trying to read the emails to MrR and Es and couldn’t I was in tears.
The wee fella just had two sessions left at curling and the ladies who organise the club had organised a club AGM for them this week after their curling session and next week was the closing Bon Spiel, prize giving and a wee dinner for them. So gutted all the organising they had done for this has gone for nothing and the Fang has missed out this year on these opportunities.
Even during the war the Churches gathered. I am sure though we can find ways to share worship together if not physically.
We are facing some pretty big challenges just now...all of us...but I am confident that together we will rise to these challenges.
And to prove that point...after enduring an hour of a bored and restless Ruairidh he was finally persuaded to have a go on the exercise bike...so he did and then he lifted some weights... and then he was a bit more bearable and his siblings didn’t want to murder him anymore. Grateful.
