Patterns
A productive day. First thing this morning my husband dug a couple of trenches for me on the allotment and I then put the potatoes in. We had a couple of phone calls with our son and daughter and have now decided that we will visit our daughter tomorrow effectively staying with them for a couple of days and only going outside for local walks. Our son told us that his two housemates have decided to go back home until the Corona virus situation improves. We have offered to take him back to Devon with us. It wouldn't be much fun for him being totally alone in a locked down London. He may even have had the infection about 2 weeks ago as he had a fever and a cough that is just disappearing now. As a result I decided to visit the local supermarket to get a few more items for when we all return. So many of the shelves were bare and there was no tinned tomatoes, eggs, butter (other than the real stuff which would do). Tea and coffee supplies were low and no porridge, flour or frozen vegetables.
I was back by lunchtime and met up with 2 other friends and my husband for a quick chat and coffee in a local cafe. Probably the last for awhile. I then walked through the town and along the beach looking for suitable patterns for todays abstract. There was an air ambulance parked on the beach and two ambulances opposite one of the nearby houses. Some poor soul was stretchered out into one of the ambulances. I also bumped into several friends all out on their local walks. On the way back I picked up a bag of flour, muesli and some porridge oats from the local health food shop.
This pattern was from the lichen growing on the roof of one of the fishermen's huts on the beach.
