Young Cormorant

I've seen this cormorant a few times recently. It's a youngster. It's a long way from the sea all the way up the Forth in Stirling but I know they're moving further up rivers these days. It must mean there are fish in the river which is good news for the cormorants but not for anglers.

This was the best photograph of it. Really it was too far away but I'm blipping it anyway. The weather has been gorgeous today which has definitely lifted my spirits.

Early-ish this morning I walked over to the sorting office to pick up a letter which needed a signature. The walk is usually a busy foot and cycle path to one of the high schools and the sports centre. I must have seen fewer than 10 people all the way there and back. Except at the sorting office itself which was rammed. Not really very good.

Schools and nurseries are closing from tomorrow. I'm not sure what it means for students who have exams. Some have already started and they'll be in full swing just after the Easter break. Or they should be anyway.

I've walked this afternoon with a friend and we tried to keep the required six feet apart. Same with the people we passed. Apart from walking I've decided to clean my house as if it's a holiday let. And not some of the holiday lets I've experienced either. The best holiday let! Well, we'll see how long that idea lasts. I'm looking at some windows which I could usefully deal with but I'm going to have a cup of tea instead.

Hoping everyone is keeping safe and well.
