Modernist Reflections

So today was filled with modernist poetry and the quite complicated ideas of Arthur Lovejoy and his theory on "The History of Ideas", in which he advocates seeking of unit-ideas which can be traced through the multi-disciplines of art and how they affect our reading and the contemporary critical reception of a piece of literature, painting or film. A lot of what we were looking at led onto the poetry which was brought up again in my later lecture on Modern American Literature (funnily enough). It takes a very special kind of lecturer to get me interested in modernist poetry - my most hated form of literature as I've said before - but this lecturer managed it - it was really interesting and engaging and has given me an idea for my essay in that module so all is well.

Today's picture is of my mask, bought for my belated masquerade-themed birthday party at the weekend. Michael (my boyfriend) is coming up for it on Saturday and since I haven't seen him in three weeks I'm very excited. Unfortunately my mask was damaged when it arrived so I've had to repair it - hopefully it won't be too noticeable.
