catching some rays

This is a male Anna's Hummingbird, the most common hummer in California. In full light the whole head is red, but here he was only catching light on his neck.
It has been a great day. My guest's flight home took off as planned, and the traffic to and from the airport was extremely light (everyone is working from home these days). Then the sun came out and I got to take my first ride on an electric bike (on loan from the owner of this VRBO). Wow, what fun! All the joy and exercise of riding a bike, but a little extra help on the hills. And I found some nice pieces of sea glass on the beach from the rain storm last night. Simple pleasures are the best!
