Road Trip #4
The final leg of our road trip was the Botallack mine workings which include Carnyorth, Wheal Cock and the Crowns Mine. Most famous is the magnificent granite and stone engine house which stands perched on the cliff edge, 30ft above the Atlantic Ocean.
The mines are now long abandoned but they live on as a romantic and picturesque reminder of what was once the lifeblood of the St Just area of Cornwall.
A fitting place to end to our quick road trip.
Today, Tuesday, was spent recovering from having a car strapped to my rear for around twelve hours.
I spent around five hours at friend Jeff’s house relocating his garage electrics and received a very generous 5L keg of Doom Bar as payment.
Clare and I then attempted to go shopping, wasted journey as the selfish and weak minded amongst us continue to stockpile everything.
