Diary of an Edinburgher

Medicinal gins

The doorbell went this morning, luckily JR was up and dressed (no rush now that there isn’t a 9am deadline). It was one of JR's gym pals to see if we needed any shopping done. Nice.

Robert came to take Archie out at 9am, but he'd had a change of plan. No worries, though Archie was confused when he went away again without him.

JR did her exercises on the mat, watched by Archie, and I did a half hour on the bike. Then JR continued with her exercise by taking Archie to the Hermitage. (9,725 steps)

I rang Uncle A (aged 91) to see how he was coping, and he seems not to have heard (or heeded) the recommendations of 'social distancing' and 'self isolation' for over 70s. He is walking to the shopping centre later, and yesterday he took the bus ('It was busy!') to buy a DVD in Princes Street. I mentioned that he could order any DVDs from Amazon. Or indeed, get Amazon Prime or Netflix to get loads of movies. He should not be going out on non-essential errands!

Rufus and his mum popped in to return her spare door key (they got locked out in the morning), and so we had some medicinal gin. There was a slight panic when we thought we'd run out of tonic after Sunday's gins, but no, I found a stash. However, Christine will order some for us in her next online delivery. Phew!
