Bad Day

The first morning the supermarkets new ruling where seniors get the first hour to do their shop for food essentials, 7am we arrived at the store seemingly with all the seniors in the Northern suburbs well over 100 with baskets at the ready waiting for the doors of the stores to roll open, we should have returned home there and then but we seemed to just get swept along with the tide.
After a gruelling 30 minutes trying to find items that were on my shopping list it was becoming too overwhelming, the shelves were laid bare, we got what we could then stood in a queue at the check out that stretched from the tills to to half way around the store, most people seemed to have meagre rations.
We could hear someone shouting in the distance, then a scream all hell broke loose, thank goodness we didn't see that confrontation, the police arrived to talk with a group of people, poor souls, it brought out the worst in some.
Needless to say we won't be repeating the designated slot for seniors. Tonight on the evening news the stores apologised to all seniors who turned up this morning for the gruelling experience, saying it should never have happened, well they got that right.
Apparently the same thing had happened in all stores across Perth.
We will stick to our plan of avoiding crowds from now on, and hope our diligence pays off.
Stay vigilant my friends and stay safe but above all don't panic!
