Temporary crossing

I've never seen one of these.
It's a temporary pelican crossing.

They are repairing a bridge at Kirkham rail station and as well as the temporary traffic lights there is this, presumably for pedestrians crossing to the rail station.

The irony is that when the works are finished the temporary crossing will go, leaving pedestrians to cope with traffic going at 30mph.
