Here there and everywhere

Lockdown Day 3

Neither of us left the house today. It was made easier by it raining most of the day. We need to keep a shopping list so that when one of us does go out next we won't forget anything, like often happens.

Bb had some online meetings and I started my course for online teaching - just day 1, so only introductions and the chance to comment on the forum and engage with other participants. It should be a cosy little group and easy to get to know everyone as there only about......3,000 participants! Quite a few friends called or texted to see how we’re doing, both here in Spain and abroad. Two previous sets of guests got in touch too, which was really nice! Our UK friends couldn't believe how strict it was, 'you can't go out together to the supermarket?'' and, 'can't you drive to a more remote area and go for a walk?' Em, no, on both accounts.

Europe has now closed its borders and UK advice is to only travel when essential, meaning our bookings for our Edinburgh flat will now start cancelling no doubt. All very necessary restrictions of course, but not good for our pocket.

Dinner was a new recipe and one to be repeated from BBC Good Food - chickpea and spinach curry. Enough for lunch tomorrow too.

Balcony community clapping at 8pm for 5 minutes - our highlight of the day now!

Exercise was just over 5,000 steps - not really good enough - but it'll be easier when it’s not raining as we have the roof terrace.

I keep thinking things like, 'we'll ask Nigel and Mireia over at the weekend'. Then remember we can't.

I need a haircut too, but that will have to wait too and I can give myself a quick fringe trim.
