Enjoying the spring sunshine
Amongst the doom, gloom and frenzy we were blessed with a glorious early spring day. Blue skies and warm sunshine.
For Susan most of the day was taken up with looking after her mum. There was a marked improvement in her condition from morning to afternoon. We didn’t know how we were going to manage her needs. Her carers, the district nurse and community health rallied around with solutions to her needs.
I spent some time at the allotment for the first time this year. Found lots of carrots and a few beetroot as I was clearing a bed. Hoed up the broad beans and garlic. Planted out shallots and red onion sets.
Thank you for your good wishes, though still challenging, it’s not as bleak as it was this morning. All this with Doreen and all the angst about Coronavirus both together serve to create the perfect storm.
We managed to get out to enjoy the sunshine this morning. Many others were too. It seems like walking and exercise are still permitted in any lock down. I’m sure visits to the allotment too. You’re fairly isolated down there. Take sensible precautions and minimise the risks by not putting yourself into situations were you could come into contact with the bug.
Like many others I’m not sure of the scale of this pandemic. So far, 11 people have contracted the virus in Kent out of 1.3 million. How many people died each year from ‘flu?
