Letter

With the whole planet consumed by the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, I received more health-related news this morning in the form of a letter from the NHS (National Health Service, for those of you outside the U.K.). It informed me that, having recently turned 60, I will need to undergo biannual screening for bowel cancer. Back to the main event, I heard yesterday that a friend at my birthday meal on 7th March is experiencing flu-like symptoms, and is now self-isolating as a precautionary measure, having not being able to get tested. I came into physical contact with this friend that night, so I too am now self-isolating, just to be on the safe side. Others who were there that night have also been informed of the situation, so that they too can take careful measures etc.
