End of an era.

Our Dell computer is old and has had its’s day. So, it’s now wrapped up in the electrical recycling bin for collection this week.

A couple of hours were spent this morning preparing for disposal. Our younger son came round and reconnected it all, as it’d been in storage for a while. Then he copied the contents of our desktop PC hard drive to our external portable hard drive.

Our desktop PC was originally bought for school work and family use, and those days are long gone. It was surpassed along the way by a series of laptops and tablets etc as family life moved on. Our computer had several upgrades over the years, but always had a few glitches and faults. It was originally used in dial-up mode, so slow compared to high speed internet now! Our router used to sit beside it, it’s powerful WiFi replacement is elsewhere.

We’d a last run through the photos and this one caught his eye (medal winners at a regional rugby competition); the young lads in the photo are all grown men now. The ones I still know are great young Scots. And still good rugby players.

We went for a walk this afternoon. Early
on we spoke to two older neighbours about impending restrictions on movement. They were pragmatic; they walk a lot rurally. Beyond them we encountered a couple of dog walkers in our hour out in the countryside. A good wellbeing walk.
