From the smallest beginnings
Today is exactly a year since mummy and papa found out I was on the way. Here is a photo of my first inside the belly photo. I'm almost invisible, the white dot inside the black dot.
They had waited such a long time to see that little dot that I'm not sure they believed it even when they did and were told that all the numbers were good. I was made with a lot of help from science and they had so much sadness before they got to me, but they say third times a charm and I'm definitely charming!
IVF is such a difficult and personal journey that nobody can really understand unless they go through it. Lots of people that knew what we were doing tried to help, give advice or support them but a lot of the time that just made matters worse. Others didnt know and would enquire innocently about our plans for a family, they don't mean any harm but it sometimes stung. Mummy kept trying to be positive even on the times where they looked for the dot and were told maybe next time, but it was tough on her and on papa, and they didn't always manage.
They both find it incredible that we got to where we are now and know how lucky they are to have got here. Amazing to think how tiny I started and how big I am now!
For anyone else going through it we want you to know that sometimes it works and little miracles appear.
