THESE MAY BE DARK TIMES.....

…..but we are still blooming!  That’s what these beautiful hellebores seemed to be saying when I went out into the garden earlier this morning and that’s what we are saying too.  

Despite the apparent doom and gloom all around us, we still intend to keep on living and although we may not have contact physically with many of our friends, at least we can keep in touch by telephone, on Blip and in other ways too.

We were even able to watch and participate in our Church service this morning as they streamed their first video link - there are things that need to be “ironed out” but it was good to feel part of the service and our congregation - and we even had comfortable, reclining armchairs - there is always a silver lining.

We are fine, because we are a couple, but I do feel for those who live alone and are having to self-isolate at this time - and if the measures proposed by our Government do come into being i.e. all those over 70 have to self-isolate for four months, then I do think that it is incumbent on everyone to look out for their family, friends and neighbours who are in that age group.  

Perhaps the young people in our country will “step up” and help out - it’s all very well going on about climate change etc but we “oldies”  more mature people will need to be looked after if we are not able to go out and about.
